The week-long celebration of the Research, Extension, Innovation, and Gender and Development (REIGn) Division, highlighted various activities that boosted extensive research trail.

Led by University President Dr. Elbert M. Galas, former University President – Vice President for Administration and Finance Management Dr. Dexter R. Buted, REIGn Vice President Dr. Razeale G. Resultay, the REIGn week commenced with its kick-off program featuring the launching of IKET and Communiversidad Outreach and Volunteer Program on Monday, November 20.

The IKET or Inclusive Knowledge Expertise Technology Transfer Program is an inclusive approach in extending support to achieve economic and social transformation for a prosperous and resilient community.

Dr. Armando D. Junio, Director for Extension Services and proponent of said project stipulated that ‘iket’ is a Pangasinan word which when translated in English languagemeans ‘net’ which also symbolizes networking and linkages among stakeholders to achieve the desired vision of the province to be a collaboration hub.

Meanwhile, the COMMUNIVERSIDAD Outreach and Volunteer Program will serve as an umbrella program for all outreach and volunteer activities in all campuses of the university. Also, the said program aims to create a positive space to nurture and grow brand awareness.

The launching ceremony held at Dr. Telesforo N. Boquiren Convention Hall was participated in by different government offices including provincial government offices, national and local agencies, local government units, community organizations and PSU-REIGn officials.

Following the said event on Day 1, a pre-planning activity was conducted hybrid at the Research Conference room, November 21.
The pre-planning activity was attended by university officials, REIGn coordinators and PSU faculty members.

Completing its prolific division’s activities was the administration of In-house review for Research, Extension and Innovation Proposals intended for 2024 funding on November 22-23.

“I would say that the REIGn-week celebration yields productive activities. The division always aims to bring out excellence in research, culture innovative projects and sustain high level of community development engagements,” Dr. Resultay shared.

President Galas joined the celebration and supported the week-long event as he, himself, is a paragon of innovative pursuits.

“We all know that PSU is driven by quality instruction, research, extension and production. However, the challenge lies in keeping these areas strong and steady. Through this event, we can say that our university is totally nailing excellence and always staying on top,” Dr. Galas said.

As part of the culmination program on November 24, the GAD Office held its Kick-Off for 18-day campaign to end Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC).
