Best practices for cultural exchange programs in the university were talked about during the benchmarking activity, May 8, 2025.
The Nueva Vizcaya State University through its StudyPH project, benchmarked Pangasinan State university in crafting innovative and impactful exchange programs.
PSU President Dr. Elbert M. Galas had shown support to exchange programs and viewed it as contributing factor for students and faculty members in understanding global perspectives.
“We also ventured into internationalization, and it is high time we connect with our friends in HEIs who can help us or whom we may help in crafting relevant frameworks,” Dr. Galas said.
Ms. Leizel M. Del Castillo, Director for International Relations, and Dr. Cristina l. Javier, Center Head for History, Culture, Arts and Innovative Education, led the presentation of best practices. Dr. Irene A. De Vera, Center Head for Health Environment, Disaster and Risk also took part in the open forum.
The conduct of extension projects and the Office of the Vice President for Local and International Affairs (OVPLIA) programs such as PSU Student-Ambassadors for Global Engagement (SAGE): An OVPLIA Volunteerism Program, Virtual English Language Teaching (VELT) Project for Non-English-Speaking Foreign Students Enrolled at PSU and International Partners, and PRIME (Promoting Region I through Multicultural Experience) Camp were laid out.
Mr. Elson Boie B. Tumaneng, program leader of Nueva Vizcaya State University, thanked PSU for accommodating his team as they discussed on the frameworks of PSU programs.
PSU officials who took part in the said event were Dr. Lorena B. Echalar (Extension Services), Ms. Venus May H. Sarmiento (PRIO), and Dr. Rhowel M. Dellosa (Research Office).
