In a continuing affirmation of its commitment to academic excellence and global scholarly engagement, the Bachelor of Arts in English Language (ABEL) faculty members of Pangasinan State University from its three campuses actively participated in the 8th Linguistic Society of the Philippines International Conference (LSPIC) held in Iloilo City from April 23-25,2026, bringing Region I research to a local and international stage of linguistic discourse.
Hosted by West Visayas State University from April 23 to 25, 2026, the conference gathered linguists, educators, and researchers from the Philippines and across the globe under the theme “Charting Future-Proof Paths in Linguistics and Language Education.” This scholarly convergence served as a dynamic platform for the exchange of innovative ideas, emerging research frameworks and pedagogical advancements in the ever-evolving field of language studies.
𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗗𝗿. 𝗘𝗹𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁 𝗠. 𝗚𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘀 said PSU’s participation in this international conference signifies more than academic representation—it reflects the University’s strategic thrust toward internationalization, where research serves as a bridge connecting local insights to global knowledge systems.

The Linguistic Society of the Philippines, a premier institution established to advance linguistic research and language education in the country, continues to provide a vital avenue for scholars to disseminate research and foster collaboration.
Through forums such as LSPIC 2026, Filipino researchers are empowered to contribute to international scholarship while addressing the complexities of multilingualism and language development in the Philippines.
It can be remembered that in April 2025, PSU hosted the 7th LSP International Conference in its Lingayen Campus which featured 260 research presenters in various disciplines of linguistics.
PSU’s participation in this international conference signifies more than academic representation—it reflects the University’s strategic thrust toward internationalization, where research serves as a bridge connecting local insights to global knowledge systems.
