The Pangasinan State University took home the 2023 bronze and silver award, accorded by the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHIL), March 18.
During the Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO) Presidents’ Summit held at Dusit Thani Hotel, Makati City, various institutions in the country participated and were awarded by the Office with an aim of recognizing their efforts for ITSO 2.0 Clustering Deliverables for 2023.
“Overall in 2023, we registered 47 IPs composed of Patent (invention), UM, ID, TM and Copyright. We got a bronze award because instead of 12 we made a total number of 19,” the Director for Innovation Support, Engr. Jeff G. Pereyras, shared.
Engr. Pereyras also said that as to silver award requirement, 24 patent is required yet PSU accomplished 29, “We made this because of RAISE project,” the Director added.
The award was personally received by Dr. Razeale G. Resultay, Vice President for Research, Extension and Innovation (OVPREI) representing University President Dr. Elbert M. Galas, together with Engr. Pereyras.
“We really worked hard for this. For us, this is not only for the award but the innovation our university could contribute for community development,” Dr. Resultay said.
As stated, ITSO Presidents’ Summit presents the updates in the ITSO program implementation, aimed at empowering ITSOs to generate more innovative and impactful outputs stemming from their research and development endeavors.
