Five days of vibrant cultural performances turned the 2026 Region I State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA-I) and Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC-I) Culture and Arts Fest, into a celebration of teamwork, talent and tradition.

The Awarding of Winners commenced on February 27, with PASUC-1 and Pangasinan State University President Dr. Elbert M. Galas and CHED Chairperson Dr. Shirley Agrupis, leading the recognition of the student-athletes.

PSU’s artistic talents particularly shone in the PASUC 1 Culture and Arts Festival 2026, where the university secured the 3rd Runner-up position in Mr. and Ms. PASUC 1 2026, while dominating the Literary Arts Competition with a Champion title in Storytelling, 3rd Place in Pagkukuwento, 2nd Place finishes in Declamation, Deklamasyon, Extemporaneous Speech, and Persuasive Oratory, 3rd Place in Oral Interpretation of Poetry, and 4th and 5th Place recognitions in Essay Writing, Pagsulat ng Sanaysay, Dagliang Talumpati, and Oratory.

In the Visual Arts Competition, PSU achieved Champion titles in Photo Contest, Poster Making, and Pencil Drawing, alongside a 2nd Place in Charcoal Rendering and 3rd Place in Painting.
In the Music Competition, PSU demonstrated exceptional vocal and instrumental prowess, capturing Champion titles in Violin, Classical Guitar, Banduria, Live Band, Vocal Solo (Kundiman), and Pop Solo, while securing 2nd Place in Quartet, 3rd Place finishes in Piano, Vocal Duet, Standard Chorale, and Show Choir, and 5th Place in Song Writing.

The university’s dance troupes also excelled, claiming the Champion title in Folk Dance, 3rd Place in Indigenous Dance, and 4th Place finishes in both Contemporary Duo and Street Dance, along with 5th Place in Contemporary Dance.

In Dramatic Arts, PSU delivered powerful performances, earning Champion titles in Radio Drama and Pandalawahang Pag-arte (Duo Acting), 2nd Place in Short & Sweet Play (Musical), and 5th Place finishes in Short & Sweet Play (Dialogue) and Duo Acting.

As the SCUAA-I 2026 Games concluded, PSU’s Golden Lions returned home with heads held high—bringing home multiple championships in literary and visual arts, strong placements across various sports, and the invaluable experience
