The Pangasinan State University, along with four other State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in Region I convened in the province of La Union on March 16 for a coordinative meeting of Gender and Development focal persons.
The Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) Regional Office I headed by Regional Director Dr. Danilo Bose said the event aims to highlight the GAD accomplishments of the SUCs, , Best Practices, as well as GAD-related research works.
GAD Specialist Neil Ryann Rodil from the Philippine Commission on Women imparted several Tips and Trends on GAD Planning and accomplishment report preparation to the participants.
PSU was ably represented by the Vice-President for Research, Extension, Innovation, and GAD Dr. Razeale G. Resultay , GAD Director Dr. Romary R. Lincod. former GAD Director Dr. Gilbert Moralista and faculty -researcher Ms. Rudjane C. Tunac.
Moreover, the second part of the event was the presentation of Best Research on GAD or Women Empowerment. PSU’s entry entitled “Upshots of LiTEACHracy Link: Empowering Mothers as Literacy Champions” was chosen as the best research paper in the region under the faculty category.
As a premier higher education institution, Pangasinan State University continues to uphold its advocacy to motivate women and girls to assume leadership positions, particularly in the areas of research, extension, innovation, and GAD, in order to realize their full potential and help them to benefit from gender equality.
