Pangasinan State University (PSU) honored its 2026 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT) and Registered Electrical Engineer Licensure Examination (REELE) topnotchers during the “Honorary Program for 2026 LEPT and REELE topnotchers” held on May 25 at the PSU Convention Hall, recognizing academic excellence, sacrifices, and resilience, behind every achievement.
“Your success is now part of the university’s legacy, but more importantly, it is now part of your responsibility to society,” 𝑼𝒏𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑫𝒓. 𝑬𝒍𝒃𝒆𝒓𝒕 𝑴. 𝑮𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒔 emphasized during his inspirational message before students, parents, faculty members, and university officials gathered for the recognition ceremony.
A total of 𝐏𝐡𝐩 𝟐,𝟐𝟒𝟎,𝟎𝟎𝟎 worth of incentives was awarded to PSU’s 2026 LEPT and REELE achievers, comprising 25 LEPT topnotchers and 1 REELE topnotcher, or 26 topnotchers in all.
Meanwhile, an additional Php 185,000 was granted to top-performing schools in acknowledgment of their outstanding performance, distributed as follows: Php 75,000 for PSU Bayambang Campus, recognized as Top 3 Performing School in the Secondary Level LEPT; Php 50,000 for the same campus for placing Top 4 in the Elementary Level LEPT; and Php 60,000 for PSU Urdaneta City Campus, awarded as a Top 3 Performing School in the Registered Electrical Engineers Licensure Examination (REELE).
The program opened with the acknowledgment of participants led by Ms. Marienuelle T. Aquino, Director for Students and Alumni Affairs (OVPASS). This was followed by the welcome remarks of Dr. Weenalei T. Fajardo, Vice President for Academics and Student Services.
Also present during the event were Dr. Celeste T. Mercado, Vice President for Quality Assurance; Dr. Renato E. Salcedo, Vice President for Local and International Affairs; Dr. Razeale Resultay, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Innovation; and Dr. Jeanilyn L. Villanueva, Vice President for Administration and Finance Management, together with the Campus Executive Directors and other university and campus officials, all of whom graced the momentous occasion.
President Galas personally handed the incentives to the awardees, reaffirming the University administration’s commitment to recognizing and supporting academic excellence.
Representing the topnotchers, 𝑴𝒔. 𝑾𝒆𝒅𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝑵. 𝑭𝒆𝒓𝒓𝒆𝒓, 𝑳𝑷𝑻, 𝑻𝒐𝒑 2 in the Secondary Level LEPT 2026, delivered a heartfelt response reflecting on the struggles that came with the journey toward success.
She spoke about enduring academic and personal challenges, days of exhaustion, moments of self-doubt, and times when everything seemed overwhelming. Despite these difficulties, Ferrer emphasized the importance of perseverance and continuing forward.
“PSU is more than a university — it is a training ground for excellence,” she shared.
Further, 𝑫𝒓. 𝑪𝒉𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝑵𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒓-𝑭𝒆𝒓𝒓𝒆𝒓, 𝑫𝒊𝒓𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒓 𝑰𝑽 𝒐𝒇 𝑪𝑯𝑬𝑫𝑹𝑶1, who is the mother of Ms. Wednesday Ferrer, spoke in behalf of her fellow proud parents expressing her trust and confidence to PSU as it is also her beloved alma mater.
