It is with pride and honor that Pangasinan State University congratulates Asst. Prof Venus May H. Sarmiento, the Director for Public Relations and Information Office for having been elected as President of the Pangasinan Government Information Officers Association (PaGIOA).
PaGIOA or the Pangasinan Government Information Officers Association, is a SEC-registered organization of information officers and public relations officers of the government institutions and line agencies supported by the Philippine Information Agency.
It was organized in 2003 with the goal to promote the advocacies of the national government that are cascaded to the regions and provinces, particularly in reaching out, gathering feedback and encouraging the public to become partners in driving positive change through timely, truthful and relevant information.
Under the supervision of COMELEC Dagupan City, the elected officers include: President-Venus May Sarmiento (PSU); Vice President -Janice Guarin (LGU Mangaldan); Secretary -Mae Rueda (LGU Lingayen); Treasurer -Rianna Jane Ortega (LGU Pozorrubio); Auditor – Vicky Melchor (PNP); Business Manager – Arman Soriano (NIA); PRO -Rommel Aguilar (LGU Asingan); Area Coordinator for Western Pangasinan – Venus Balgua (LGU Alaminos); Eastern Pangasinan- Bren Justin Guevarra (DOST); Central Pangasinan-Julie Pearl Maramba (R1MC); Dagupan City -Rica Mae De Guzman (BFP).
Director Sarmiento and the new set of PAGIOA officers were sworn in by PIA Regional Director Jennilyne Role at the Lenox Hotel in Dagupan City on October 18, 2024. The activity also coincided with a forum on PhilHealth Konsulta Center and a seminar-training on Photojournalism with award-winning photojournalist Wilfredo Lomibao as resource speaker.
