𝑷𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒂𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒏 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝑼𝒏𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕, 𝑫𝒓. 𝑬𝒍𝒃𝒆𝒓𝒕 𝑴. 𝑮𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒔, is united with national and international volunteerism advocates in hosting the 2nd Forum on the International Volunteer Service Program, July 19, 2024.
Dr. Galas welcomed participating representatives of Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA), International Volunteer Service Organizations (IVSOs), Commission on Higher Education (CHED), National Development Authority (NEDA), Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and other volunteering organizations at the Golden Lion Hotel.

According to Dr. Galas, through the sharing of innovative approaches and success stories, the IVSP will be strengthened and positive impact on communities around the world will be maximized.
The said activity hosted by the university coincided with the three day-day event on Training-workshop on the Volunteer Management System (VMS) spearheaded by the 𝑶𝒇𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑽𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒄𝒉, 𝑬𝒙𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑰𝒏𝒏𝒐𝒗𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 (𝑹𝑬𝑰) 𝒍𝒆𝒅 𝒃𝒚 𝑫𝒓. 𝑴𝒓. 𝑫𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍𝒅 𝑱𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒔 𝑫. 𝑮𝒂𝒘𝒆, 𝑬𝒙𝒆𝒄𝒖𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝑫𝒊𝒓𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒓 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑷𝑵𝑽𝑺𝑪𝑨, thanked he university in leading the volunteerism forum and encouraged everyone to network, build connections, and collaborate with peers to enhance their understanding and commitment to volunteerism in higher education.
The 𝑫𝒊𝒓𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒓 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑪𝑯𝑬𝑫 𝑹𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑶𝒇𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒆-1, 𝑫𝒓. 𝑪𝒉𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝑵𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒓 𝑭𝒆𝒓𝒓𝒆𝒓, who joined online, emphasized the role of volunteerism which talks not only about giving back, but also empowering both students and communities allowing them to become active citizens, develop their crucial skills and discover their passions.

Meanwhile, the 𝑫𝒊𝒓𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒓 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑵𝑬𝑫𝑨 𝑹𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑶𝒇𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒆-1, 𝑫𝒓. 𝑺𝒕𝒆𝒑𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒆 𝑭. 𝑪𝒉𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒆𝒏, commended the incorporation of volunteerism model for HEIs to mainstream the students and the faculty as according to her ‘we want to mold minds that would live the essence of volunteerism, not only as a one-time episode, but as an experience that will be part of them throughout their lives.’

National Organizations and IVSOs physically present at the Golden Lion Hotel in the said forum were Australian Volunteer Program, France Volontaires (FV), GIZ, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), United States Peace Corps (USPC), Mindoro State University, Camosun College, NEDA and PNVSCA.
A meeting on academic partnership and technical assistance for curricula development and incorporation of Volunteerism mechanisms was held in the afternoon, attended by Vice President Resultay and Director for International Relations, Ms. Leizel Del Castillo.
