  5. PSU Information Technology team receives...

A resounding round of applause goes to Pangasinan State University Lingayen Campus’ Bachelor of Science in Information Technology teams, REPEL (Aquardent), CRATE (HydroSmarth), and InnoVision (ARVenture)!

These exceptional teams captivated the judges with their groundbreaking solutions in aquaponics, hydroponics, and tourism. Their innovative ideas were rewarded handsomely, each securing a significant seed funding of Php 150,000.00 from DOST-NCR.

The Miriam College – Technology Business Incubator (TBI), a thriving hub fostered by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) – National Capital Region (NCR) and DOST’s Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (PCIEERD), spearheaded the event.

Cohort 5 of its “The Nursery” Incubation Program has successfully graduated, showcasing the program’s dedication to nurturing promising startups.

Planting Seeds of Progress:

* HydroSmarth by Team Crate: This ingenious creation revolutionizes hydroponic farming by harnessing the power of Internet of Things (IoT) technology. It tackles the limitations of traditional methods by offering precise monitoring and automated controls, all conveniently managed through a user-friendly mobile application platform.

* AquaArdent by Team REPEL: This solution merges cutting-edge IoT technology with practical application. AquaArdent boasts of an Automatic Fish Feeder equipped with an Early Fish Kill Alert System. This empowers fish cultivators to automate feeding schedules while remaining vigilant about potential fish health issues, ensuring the well-being of their aquatic livestock.

* InnoVision’s TourPal: This groundbreaking app is poised to transform the travel landscape. By incorporating seamless Augmented Reality (AR) features and intelligent search functionalities, TourPal personalizes recommendations and bridges the gap between the physical world and virtual elements, creating an immersive and enriching travel experience.

These remarkable teams invested six dedicated months in the intensive incubation program, benefitting from the invaluable guidance and mentorship of industry experts, University President Dr. Elbert M. Galas (himself an IT Doctorate degree holder), Mr. Elmar B. Noche and Ms. Gerli Ryza DS. Reyes.

The culminating presentation held on June 24, 2024, showcased the impressive advancements made in their aquaponics and hydroponics solutions.

The Pangasinan State University community led by President Galas, extends heartfelt congratulations to Cohort 5 graduates and expresses immense pride in their accomplishments.
