The Eulogio “AMANG” Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology (EARIST) benchmarked the Fabrication Laboratory of Pangasinan State University in Urdaneta Campus and DOST 1 Food Innovation Center in Bayambang Campus, June 6-7.
Urdaneta 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐫. 𝐑𝐨𝐲 𝐂. 𝐅𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐫 welcomed EARIST delegates, on the first day of the said benchmarking activity.
During the meeting, the Head of FabLab, Engr. Rex B. Basuel, Dean of the College of Engineering and Architecture, presented an overview of PSU’s specialized courses and the performance of PSU-UCC’s College of Engineering and Architecture while Engr. Rodel P. Hacla, Production and Auxiliary Services Coordinator, talked about the Engineering Metal Works Center.
The presentation of FabLab’s specializations, accomplishments, and services was led by the FabLab Manager, Arch. Jumar Balicao, while Engr. Ryndell Casem discussed the Mechatronics Assessment and Training Center, the Solid Freeform Fabrication Research Laboratory (SoFFReL) and the 3D Printing Laboratory.
Meanwhile, to acquire new knowledge and best practices in the operations of the DOST1-FIC, 𝐁𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐫. 𝐆𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐚 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐬𝐨𝐧 and Center Head Dr. Wilma De Vera, led a comprehensive tour of the FIC laboratory, explaining the machinery and its role in innovation on the second day of the EARIST delegates’ visit.
“We are aiming for the continuous production and success, that’s why we are encouraging the students, especially in BTLED students, to engage with different FIC laboratory activities for them to be enhanced and that is one of our biggest assets, we imparted them a lot of knowledge and skills,” said Dr. De Vera.
EARIST delegates were Prof. Jocelyn R. Moreno, Director of Production Services and Mr. Ernesto Pacheco Jr., TedPro Laboratory Technician.
The event concluded as the delegates gave an excellent rating and positive feedback of satisfaction and assured that they will be back again for another partnership activity.
