Gender and Development Director Dr. Romary R. Lincod said the activity strives to strengthen the capacity to promote gender equality within the units and offices of the university and get a solid grasp of gender analysis concepts and the Gender Mainstreaming Evaluation (GMEF) Tool.
The Director for Planning Dr. Madlyn Tingco welcomed the online participants from the nine campuses of PSU while Vice President for Research, Extension, Innovation and GAD, Dr. Razeale G. Resultay gave a message of encouragement.
Resource speakers for the activity included Ms. Zara Jane Annudin, the GAD Coordinator of PSU Alaminos City Campus who focused her talk on ‘Gender Analysis as the Starting Point of Gender Mainstreaming’.
“Right after knowing the gender issues and the problems of men and women in the society, it is very important that we create interventions and solutions for these mandates,” Ms. Annudin uttered during her talk.
Moreover, the second speaker Ms. Eva Jamaillah Dizon who serves as the GAD Coordinator of Lingayen Campus, engaged in the discussion on ‘Gender Mainstreaming Evaluation Framework’.
“In Gender Mainstreaming, it is important to establish adhering to the GAD essential elements,” Ms. Dizon imparted.
The third speaker was John F. Gagucas, the supervising economic development specialist at the Development Research and Communication and Advocacy Division of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) as well as the Region 1 Gender and Development Resource pool member, who discussed on Administering the Enhanced GMEF.
“Although it is not mandatory to create such, we are doing the GMEF because we can not really come up with a good and real GAD plan and budget without undergoing GMEF,” he explained.
