1-7Pangasinan State University’s quest to establish efficiency in all of its operations in both the academic and support services is falling into place as it moves closer to being the first SUC to be ISO 9001:2015 certified this year.

On October 3, the University’s Quality Management System (QMS) was launched with a scope that covers the provision of Tertiary services in Lingayen campus which includes the University level management processes, performance evaluation and improvement processes, and campus support services.

The launch highlighted the University’s commitment to quality education as it starts to develop a University-wide ISO 9001:2015 quality management system. Moreover, the University stated as well its pledge to effectively guide its clients and stakeholders towards the successful completion of its journey. A QMS is a collection of processes focused on achieving quality policy and quality objectives to meet customer requirements. It is expressed as the organizational structure, policies, procedures, processes and resources needed to implement quality management.

The project aims to establish and implement a quality management system for PSU that is certifiable to ISO 9001:2015. It covers all aspects of operations including finance and accounting services,   student services, library services, procurement services, enrolment procedures, among others. Hence, the establishment of the QMS started with PSU Lingayen campus which houses the main administratio1-12n and will then be cascaded and replicated to the remaining eight other campuses. Thus far, Rosehall Consultancy has put in place all the necessary recommendations with high hopes as it was identified as the service provider for the deployment of the most coveted and vaunted certification.

University President, Dr. Dexter R. Buted said that they are beyond the certification, that the success of the University will be the result of its ability to develop and improve its performance in the long term.

The event was led by Dr. Manolito C. Manuel, the Vice President for Extension and Training Services along with the Quality Assurance Director, Dr. Elbert Galas and was attended by the officials, faculty, non-teaching staffs and students of the University.

The said QMS implementation shows the University’s efforts in ensuring quality delivery of its products and services to its clients- the students, adding that the institution is committed to actualizing its part of the obligations with the consultant, Rosehall, in order to realise the objective of attaining ISO certification before the end of the year.
