Keeping pace with the advancement of technology, Pangasinan State University (PSU) revisited its information systems and university website on September 9, 2025.
University President Dr. Elbert M. Galas personally led the meeting together with the Information and Communication Technology Management Office (ICTMO) to provide updates and introduce relevant interventions to address challenges in the office.
An IT professional himself, Dr. Galas stated the importance of information systems in ensuring effective, timely, and smooth data processing prior to university operations.
“We work hand in hand to advance IT-related benefits for managing university data. In this era, we must pioneer accessible and secure information systems,” the University President said.
ICTMO Director Dr. Romulo L. Olalia Jr., along with Director for International Accreditation Dr. Randy Joy M. Ventayen, co-chaired the meeting with Dr. Galas.
The discussions covered concerns on existing and operational information systems, the need for in-house development both in the main office and campuses, as well as initiatives for funding.
The said meeting aimed to convert all processes written in the Educational Organizations Management System (EOMS) process manual into information systems.
Deans, chairpersons, and faculty members from the Colleges of Information Technology and Computer Sciences across campuses participated in the meeting. Also in attendance was Mr. Charles Dustein Soriano, OVP-QA Document Management In-Charge.
Dr. Olalia noted that through this initiative, university processes will soon become system-generated, benefiting all university offices.
Truly, PSU under the leadership of Dr. Galas continues to pursue innovation and sustainability toward building a Smart Pangasinan State University.
