In what is deemed as an unrivalled, senior-level networking among policy makers in a global scale, Pangasinan State University is humbled to be recognized as a game changer.
For the first time in PSU history, it has joined the Global Sustainable Development Congress that featured the exclusive live reveal of the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2024, the only global performance table that assesses universities against Sustainable Development Goals, accompanied by a live question and answer session for delegates.
PSU was among the 1,700 institutions that participated in the most comprehensive snapshot of any stakeholder contribution globally. The ranking provides detailed analysis and robust insight for business, government and wider society into higher education’s contribution to achieving all 17 SDGs.
In the Congress held in Bangkok, Thailand on June 12, 2024, PSU officials led by University President Dr. Elbert M. Galas, strategically engaged with the target audience by exposing the PSU brand of excellence, sharing industry knowledge and thought leadership to the global higher education community.
President Galas was joined by the University Vice-Presidents: Dr. Razeale Resultay (Research, Extension and Innovation), Dr. Ian Evangelista ( Local and International Affairs), Dr. Jenylyn Oboza (Administration and Finance Management) and Prof. Celeste Mercado (Quality Assurance).
Other Region I HEIs led by Commission On Higher Education (CHED) Regional Director Dr. Christine Ferrer were also present in the global event.
It can be remembered that during the term of former President Dexter R. Buted, quality mechanisms were in-placed, bequeathing the title for PSU as the first and only higher educational institution in the Philippines to earn the Level III: Mastery in Quality Management for the Philippine Quality Award (PQA). PSU later on embarked on the global ranking of QS Stars where it earned three stars.
With the new administration of President Galas, the global quest for excellence continues with the THE Impact Rankings 2024 and the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) marking the coverage of all three CHED-recognized ranking systems for HEI internationalization.
