  7. PSU ensure GAD projects in place

Taking in hand ideas of inclusivity and gender mainstreaming in PSU, the Gender and Development Office of the university held its 1st Quarter Assembly, for GAD Focals on February 19.
GAD advocates from the nine campuses convened at the Audio-Visual Room of PSU-Lingayen Campus.

Spearheaded by the Director for GAD, Dr. Romary R. Lincod together with PSU Vice Presidents Dr. Razeale G. Resultay for Research, Extension and Innovation Division, and Dr. Jenylyn V. Oboza for Quality Assurance Division, the said activity highlighted the importance of GAD Focal Point System (GFPS) in an institution.

“GFPS is an interacting and interdependent group of people tasked to catalyze and accelerate gender mainstreaming. It is also an enabling mechanism established to ensure and advocate for, guide, coordinate and monitor the development, implementation, monitoring, review, and update of their GAD plans and GAD-related programs, activities, and projects,” the Philippine Commission on Women explained.

The whole day event commenced with a series of lectures in the morning and a workshop on GAD related issues and concerns set in the afternoon.
Mr. Danilo T. Balino, Head for CHR-RO1 Promotions and Advocacy Division, joined via zoom and led the discussion on Gender Mainstreaming Integration of GAD Perspectives (All Processes and System).

Campus executive directors, University Officials and campus coordinators took part in the said activity.

Meanwhile, PSU President Dr. Elbert M. Galas is the main advocate of inclusivity in the university solidifying the incorporation of GAD perspectives in different systems inside the institution.
