Highlights of the one-day Research Symposium held on April 18 are the presentation of paper researches conducted by both teaching and non-teaching personnel from the nine campuses of Pangasinan State University.

Spanning five (5) clusters, the symposium highlights the breadth and depth of PSUnians’ research endeavors. Each cluster facilitates knowledge exchange, interdisciplinary dialogue and new avenues of exploration.

𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝟏 dealt on History, Culture , Arts and Innovative Education; 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝟐 on Integrated Agriculture and Sustainable Water Resources;
𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝟑 on Business, Economic Tourism, Governance, Policy and Human Welfare;
𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝟒 on Food Innovation, Health, Energy, Disaster and Risk; and
𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝟓 on Science, Technology Engineering and Environment.

Divided into two groups, Clusters 2, 4 and 5 had external panel of evaluators. They are Dr. Jomar Abana, director for R & E Publications of DMMMSU; Dr. Raquel Pambid, a retired professor of PSU; and Dr. Theda Flare Quilala, director for Admission and Registration of Tarlac State University.

Cluster 1 and 3, on the other hand, had Dr. Nora Oredina, dean of the College of Education of DMMMSU; and Dr. Noel Guevarra, research director of Urdaneta City University, as panelists.
After thorough deliberation, the following researches were awarded as Best Research Paper per cluster:

𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝟐 – Density dependent effects on growth and survival rates of abalone grown in submerged PVC pipes by Dr. Emmanuel Federico C. Capinpin, Jr.
𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝟑 – Outcome Assessment of Skills Training by – Dr. Nova E. Arquillano and co-researchers (J. Cacapit, R. Soraino, S. Mangrobang, R. Cardinoza, H. Viray, E. Valencerina, N. Orlanda and J. Castro)
𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝟒 – Phytoremediating the closed dumpsite of Quibaol, Lingayen, Pangasinan through buho (schizostachyum lumampao) by Aivee Joy N. Nacor and co-researchers (R. De Vera, L. Santos, F. Areniego, J. Oscillos, I. De Vera)
𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝟓 – Development of digitized instructional multiple Binaural acoustic stethoscope, its application and future prospect by Platon Group (Dr. Catalina, Sherlyn. Raychard and Raymond)
All presentors received certificates while the winners received Certificates of Appreciation and cash incentives.
