Pangasinan State University made it big again in sustainability and environmental stewardship, rising several notches higher from its previous spots
in the 2026 UI GreenMetric World University Rankings.
This year, PSU secured 7th place in the Philippines (from 10th place), 194th in Asia (from 220th), and 338th worldwide (from 391th).
The University recorded 925 points in Setting and Infrastructure, 1,300 points in Energy and Climate Change, 1,325 points in Waste, 875 points in Water, 1,185 points in Transportation, 1,087.5 points in Education and Research, and 962.5 points in Governance and Digitalization.
The latest rankings show the University’s sustained efforts under the administration of President Dr. Elbert M. Galas to integrate sustainability into institutional development, campus operations, and the broader academic community.
Under President Galas’ leadership, PSU has continued to advance initiatives that support environmentally responsible and sustainable university practices, reinforcing its presence not only among Philippine higher education institutions but also on the Asian and global stage.
The achievement marks another milestone for PSU as the University, led by the Quality Assurance Division, continues to pursue academic excellence alongside its commitment to building greener and more sustainable campuses for present and future generations.
