Pangasinan State University convened process owners of the main office and the Lingayen Campus to refresh the concerned employees on the Educational Organizations Management System (EOMS) guidelines as it embarks on this higher level of instrument in quality management.
Dr. Marcelo C. Gutierrez, Jr., Vice-President for Quality Assurance, welcomed the participants and enjoined the team to continue the labors of Philippine Quality Award as the university transitions to EOMS.
“Alam natin na ang paghahanda ay mahaba pa kesa sa actual activity. Hindi tayo basta-basta sumusuong sa pagsubok na hindi pinag-iisipan at pinaghahandaan ang mga strategic moves. Remember the 5 Ps – Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance,” Dr. Gutierrez said.
Dr. Charlaine Lopez, head of the Initiatives on International Standards and PQA, discussed the quality workplace standards which were earlier reviewed by members of the various teams.
On the other hand, Dr. William Cayetano, Director for Institutional Assessment and Accreditation, presented the details of the conduct of internal audit scheduled on May 15-17, 2023.
“We have to incorporate approaches to streamline the processes,” Dr. Cayetano explained.
University President Dr. Elbert M. Galas said PSU has been practicing ISO since 2016 and believes that PSU is ready to migrate to EOMS as foundations for basic quality assurance mechanism are in-placed.
PSU continues the journey to excellence with its transition to EOMS 210001:2018 that serves as a guide for institutions that support the development of knowledge through teaching, learning and research.
