The implementation of quality mechanisms in PSU offices has become a reference point for various institutions seeking to benchmark best practices.

Pangasinan State University welcomed the delegation from the University of Antique for a benchmarking activity at the Office of Production and Auxiliary Services (PAS) on October 15, 2025.

PSU President Dr. Elbert M. Galas emphasized that the sharing of best practices is a shared responsibility among institutions to refine and eliminate irrelevant processes while adopting updated and effective ones.

“Targeting academic excellence is first seen and experienced in the implementation of processes within the university. All kinds of outputs we have are byproducts of our operations,” President Galas said.

Dr. Narciso F. Castro, PSU-PAS Director, representing VP for Administration and Finance Management Dr. Jeanilyn L. Villanueva, led the presentation of best practices along with Dr. Jerry L. Ceballos Jr., General Manager of PSU-Golden Lion Hotel.

Discussions during the meeting centered on concessionaires’ agreements, services offered in income-generating facilities and fund sources.
Dr. Marie Ann J. Raymaro of the University of Antique expressed her gratitude for the warm accommodation and her admiration for PSU’s achievements, particularly in establishing a training and business hotel.

“Please know that we are impressed by what you have presented to us. We will take these practices with us as we go back to our university. Also, please visit us there so we can also share our best mechanisms with you,” said Dr. Raymaro, Director of the UA Business Operations Unit.

Joining the activity were Dr. Josephine A. Rosales (GLH Assistant General Manager), Dr. Senando M. Evangelista (Head, Housekeeping Services), and Ms. Venus May H. Sarmiento (Director, PRIO), who also took part in the benchmarking activity.
