Bent on realizing the vision to become a leading industry-driven academic institution, Pangasinan State University forged a collaborative partnership with Clark Development Corporation (CDC), under the latter’s Town and Gown program.
The Memorandum of Agreement, signed by PSU President Dr. Elbert M. Galas and CDC President and Chief Executive Officer Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera on June 24, 2025 at Clark Visitor’s Center, highlighted workforce development, student opportunities like internship, industry exposure and other initiatives.
“To fulfill our vision, we align our academic programs with the needs of the job market and prepare our graduates for successful careers. This collaboration with CDC is a big step ahead in involving strong partnerships and hands-on learning experiences that will equip our students with the necessary skills and knowledge demanded by the industry,” Dr. Galas said.
The University President added that PSUnians who need to undergo on-the-job trainings (OJTs) can now be accepted in various companies under CDC and the university could likewise invite the company during job fairs.
In turn, Atty Devanadera of CDC said the program highlighted efforts to align academic training with industry needs to support ease of doing business in the Freeport.
The PSU delegation who served as witnesses to the agreement were Vice President Ian D. Evangelista of the Local and International Affairs Division, Internship Director Dr. Erna Salazar, Students and Alumni Affairs Director Ms. Marinuelle Aquino and Legal Officer Atty. Darius De Guzman.
CDC is a government -owned and controlled corporation that manages the Clark Freeport and Special Economic Zones.
