The Pangasinan State University, in partnership with the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), together with the Infanta Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries and Farmers Association, Inc. entered into a Memorandum of Agreement signing on July 12.
The collaboration aims to provide access to quality seeds and seedlings in the locality and ensure the production of improved crop varieties and quality of plant materials through the establishment and efficient implementation of the enterprise-based crop nurseries with greenhouse facilities and tissue culture laboratory.
As stated in the MOA, the University will supervise the establishment of the crop nursery, greenhouse facility, and tissue culture laboratory to support Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations (ARBOs) under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) of the national agency.
PSU President Dr. Elbert M. Galas, Campus Executive Directors for Sta. Maria and Infanta Dr. Honorio L. Casculan and Dr. Elmer Vingua signed in the MOA representing the University.
On the othet hand, DAR Regional Director for the Ilocos Region, Maria Ana B. Francisco together with Mr. Edmund M. Molino representing the DAR-ARBO, joined the MOA signing at the Ylang-ylang Conference Room in PSU Golden Lion Hotel.
The PSU-DAR partnership is another testament to the enduring support of Pangasinan’s pride, Agrarian Reform Secretary Conrado M. Estrella III to the students and families of farmer-beneficiaries in the province.
