𝐈𝐋𝐎𝐈𝐋𝐎 𝐂𝐈𝐓𝐘—Along with over 100 state universities and colleges (SUCs) in the country, the Pangasinan State University takes part in this year’s SUC Fair at SM City Iloilo which will run from July 10-13. With the theme “Navigating the Global Academic Landscape through Innovations, Cultural and Arts Preservation and Higher Education Quality”, this 4-day event initiated by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) aims to showcase the best practices, products, culture and technologies of various SUCs and regions in the country. West Visayas State University (WVSU) hosts this year’s edition of the annual event which is now on its third successful year. Excitement and anticipation filled the venue during the event’s kick-off on Monday which was led by First Lady Marie Louise “Liza” Araneta Marcos, CHED officials headed by Chairman Prospero De Vera and delegations from various SUCSs from the 17 participating regions in the country. University President Dr. Elbert M. Galas led the PSU delegation which teamed up with other SUCs in Region 1 in various competitions. This year’s competitions include technology and innovation pitching, booths and bazaars, digital art competition, vlog entry competition, same event edit: video documentary competition, cultural presentations, songwriting competition, Youthpreneurship, and Mr. and Ms. SUC fair 2023. President Galas was joined by Dr. Ian D. Evangelista (PSU Bayambang Campus Executive Director and Chief Administrative Officer), Dr. Ramil L. Dacal (Director for Culture and Arts Affairs Office), Dr. Krigher C. Simbulan (PSU Bayambang PRPIO Coordinator), Mr. Felcris Dy, Ms. Ann Marjorie Del Monte (Food Innovation Center representatives) and Ms. Jan Rlee de Guzman (Ms. SUC Fair candidate). PSU is representing Region 1 in the vlog entry competition and Ms. SUC Fair 2023. Furthermore, PSU’s pride DOST-1 Food Innovation Center will also be showcasing its various award-winning products in the event’s booths and bazaars alongside other Region 1 counterparts. PSU’s participation in such significant events is a manifestation of its undying commitment to supporting CHED’s pursuit of a world-class higher education through the convergence of innovation, education, and culture. The winners in the various competitions will be known today, July 13, during the closing program of this year’s SUC Fair.
