The Pangasinan State University Lingayen Campus-Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) Program’s REPEL Team has proven that innovative ideas are pathways to success.
On June 30th, at the MOA One Esplanade, Team REPEL emerged victorious, claiming the Excellence Award (1st Runner Up) at the Application Convention (AppCon 2024).
Facing off against 222 teams from 14 universities, REPEL navigated a rigorous selection process, pushing their limits through each elimination round. The competition demanded innovative solutions, meticulous research, and flawless execution, testing their technical skills, creativity, and perseverance.
Guided by their mentors, Mr. Elmar Noche and Ms. Gerli Ryza Reyes, REPEL rose to the challenge, proving that their dedication and vision were truly exceptional. The group was awarded with a plaque, silver medals and a cash prize of PhP 50,000.
Their journey from initial concept to final presentation embodies the spirit of innovation and determination. The REPEL team, comprised of Joselito Faylogna, Jefferson Salvador, Jefferson De Guzman, Jordan Pasana, Mark James Nava, Jerome Justin Carolino, Mary Grace Palma, Earl IΓ±igo, Gian Franco Caoile, and Aldrick Petite, has shown that young Filipinos can make a real difference through technology.
Their success is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and innovative spirit, inspiring future generations to embrace the power of coding and create a brighter future for the Philippines.
