In celebration of the ๐๐๐ญ๐ก ๐ฒ๐๐๐ซ ๐จ๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐จ๐๐ข๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐จ๐ ๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ก๐๐๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐ฌ๐ข๐๐ง ๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ (๐๐๐๐๐), the Commission on Higher Education- Regional Office 1, spearheaded a conference held on September 5, 2024.
Some 45 HEIs in the region participated in the said event themed as โ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐โ, โ๐๐๐๐๐: ๐๐ง๐ก๐๐ง๐๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐จ๐ง๐ง๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ฌ๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐๐ง๐๐,โ held at the Event Center of Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation in San Carlos City, Pangasinan.
CHED-RO1 Director, Dr. Christine N. Ferrer, extended her heartfelt gratitude to participating HEIs in the conference and lauded their quest towards internationalization as evidenced by their standing in the international ranking bodies.
The said conference featured various talks on innovation and internationalization ventured into by HEIs, Session with Industry-partners, ASEAN booth exhibits and culinary showdown.
The PSU team led by University President, Dr. Elbert M. Galas, was represented by Vice Presidents Dr. Jenylyn V. Oboza, Dr. Celeste T. Mercado and Dr. Ian D. Evangelista together with OVPLIA Directors.
Meanwhile, VP Mercado led the presentation of PSUโs best practices in producing timely and impactful data for Times Higher Education Impact Rankings along with other universities in Region 1 in the afternoon session of the ASEAN Conference.
PSU in the ASEAN booth and culinary competition teamed up with University of Luzon, St. Camillus College and NICOSAT College representing the ASEAN country Singapore.
UL being the lead in the cooking showdown of the Singapore group emerged champion.
The Office of the Vice President for Local and International Affairs (OVPLIA) directors Dr. Cristeta C. Dulos for GCED, Ms. Liezel M. Del Castillo for International Affairs, Dr. Jesusa B. Sanchez for International Extension Partnership, Ms. Venus May H. Sarmiento for PRIO, Dr. Lorena B. Echalar for Special Projects, Mr. John Joseph D. Zarate for CPD and Dr. Krigher C. Simbulan for Student Mobility led by VP Evangelista also took part in the Regional Conference.
The heavy downpour being experienced by Region I for a week now did not hinder the participants but rather, fueled their enthusiasm in gaining more knowledge and partnership in the event.
