The Pangasinan State University and Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) formalized the renewal of partnership on the installation of Automated Teller Machine (ATM) in the vicinity of the university’s main campus, Monday, February 26.
Pointing to the convenience it brings to employees and clients, PSU President Dr. Elbert M. Galas inked memorandum of agreement together with LBP representatives highlighting both parties’ obligations in the maintenance of the said machine.
With the installation of LBP’s off-site teller machine on March 16, 2023, users are given more accessible ways in doing basic bank transactions without needing to go to the bank’s office or nearby ATMs.
Dr. Galas said that this initiative doesn’t only imply benefits among PSUnians but also a way of helping people in the community bringing closer to ease.
“Simple act of innovation like this shows the role of the university for community upliftment and social responsiveness. Innovation doesn’t always need to be expensive,” President Galas shared.
The said ATM is located Infront of the Legacy building of PSU Lingayen Campus which made it more convenient for users as it is situated near the gate of university, supervised 24/7 by PSU security personnel.
In the MOA signing, LBP representatives were Atty. Benizar C. Francisco, Head for FSSC-1 and Mr. Roehl S. Bautista, Branch Head.
Joining Dr. Galas were Ms. Jesille Q. Viernes, University Cashier and Dr. Jeanilyn L. Villanueva, Chief Administrative Officer for Finance.
Collaborations in the academe have been playing a crucial role in the improvement of a certain institution and at PSU, the mandate is to go beyond the path of standard education, incorporate holistic development towards community upliftment.
