As commitment to excellence is best shared through collaboration, two academic institutions engaged in a benchmarking activity, September 2, 2025.

The Pangasinan State University (PSU) team, led by University President Dr. Elbert M. Galas, welcomed Occidental Mindoro State College (OMSC) in a Meeting of Minds that highlighted best practices in PSU’s Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP) and Open University Systems (OUS).
President Galas emphasized that the university has been consistently pursuing initiatives to advance its programs and processes to meet the needs of modern industries and ensure the quality of its graduates.

“Through the programs offered under ETEEAP and OUS, the university continues to uphold its commitment to accessible, quality education. We bring PSU closer to people to fulfill their long-held aspirations to contribute to the body of knowledge,” President Galas said as he provided a walkthrough of PSU’s humble acheivements.

OIC-Vice President for Academics and Student Affairs Dr. Weenalei T. Fajardo and Vice President Dr. Rosario DL. Valencerina also joined the benchmarking activity held at the Golden Lion Hotel.

Dr. Phillip G. Queroda, Executive Director for Open University Systems, and Dr. Cristie Marie C. Dalisay, Director for ETEEAP, led the presentation of best practices and addressed questions during the breakout sessions.

The OMSC delegation, headed by its President Dr. Elbert C. Edaniol, expressed gratitude to PSU for its openness and generosity in sharing institutional practices.

“During the sharing of best practices, I witnessed how genuine the PSU team is in providing mechanisms that our institution truly needs. Thank you very much,” President Edaniol said.

Also present were Internship Director Dr. Erna M. Salazar and Public Relations and Information Office Director Ms. Venus May H. Sarmiento, who participated in the benchmarking activity.
