Six academic degree programs in the University faced the 3rd Survey, Phase 2 cycle of accreditation from the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) Inc. on May 28-30, 2025.
The May 2025 batch programs included in the said accreditation are from PSU campuses of Alaminos City, Asingan, San Carlos City and Urdaneta City.
University President Dr. Elbert M. Galas, represented by Quality Assurance Vice President Celeste T. Mercado, said accreditations undoubtedly fuel the passion in the hearts of the PSU community members to move towards higher levels of quality,
“Quality is the core of any organization to gain reputation and credibility from the local and international community. Recognition from various accrediting and certifying bodies and agencies provides a better opportunity for us to prove our worth and claim for excellence,” President Galas said.
The President, through VP Mercado, thanked the accreditors and acknowledged the efforts of everyone in the continuous improvement in delivering quality services as the university aims to see how much of the four programs in four campuses have developed in terms of its service not only to the academic community but to the larger society.
During the opening program on May 28 held at the ASEAN Hall of PSU Golden Lion Hotel, AACCUP Coordinator Dr. Nino B. Corpuz of Tarlac State University who will be accrediting Alaminos and Asingan Campuses, highlighted the importance of accreditation of programs in an academic institution in the quest for innovation and development. and added that serving others thru accreditation is worth having.
On the other hand, Dr. Jaime M. Forbes of Bataan Peninsula State University who will be leading the accreditation for San Carlos and Urdaneta City Campuses, stated that subjecting a program to accreditation is more than a procedural undertaking but a bold commitment and dedication to quality mechanisms.
“PSU demonstrates proactive and courageous stance in embracing changes, seeking progress and striving for higher levels of institutional performance and program quality. Let us foster a culture where excellence is not incidental but intentional,” Dr. Forbes quipped.
Member Accreditors for the programs on BS Information Technology, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Secondary Education, Technology and Livelihood Education and Civil Engineering, joined online and were also introduced in the opening ceremony.
University Vice Presidents and Campus Executive Directors as well their local counterparts in the campuses, joined physically and online as they were led to their respective break out rooms.
