The Dr. Telesforo N. Boquiren Convention Hall of Pangasinan State University has again witnessed a motivating, magical and a night full of emotions as PSUnians gathered for an annual ceremony of ‘Gawad Parangal’ on August 18.
Themed as ‘Mapagmalasakit at Responsableng Mga PSUnian, Kabalikat sa Mas Matatag na Lipunan’, the Gawad Parangal para sa mga Natatanging Mag-aaral ng Pangasinan State University paved the way for nine (9) students representing each PSU campus to share their stories of life challenges, pursuing excellent spot in academics and qualifying as Gawad Parangal awardees.

In an inspirational message, PSU President Dr. Elbert M. Galas highlighted the remarkable resilience and perseverance exhibited by students in the face of diverse challenges and despite confronting crisis, PSUnians have emerged even more resolute, fueling their unwavering ambition towards goal achievement.

Galas said.
The University President even encouraged the students to be grateful for the different programs given by the education sector in making quality education accessible for all. He also expressed his gratitude to the PSU community especially faculty members for their passion in honing young minds and to PSU students for valuing education despite challenges.

Since 2015, PSU had started recognizing student exemplars through the Gawad Parangal ceremony having accomplished figures as Guest of Honor and Speaker and this year’s event, the President for Guanzon Group of Companies, Mr. Guanson Lo.

In his speech, Mr. Lo took account on the teachings and principles passed though by his parents which served as guiding principles in achieving success in life.

“We should not stop learning. If you fall, rise up and be smarter. Kailangan nating magpasalamat lagi sa Diyos dahil gratefulness is a pre-requisite to happiness”, Mr. Guanson added.

Incidentally, the Guanzon Group is also a staunch ally of PSU in its AKKBAY program where the generous business magnate offered full scholarship to 30 PSUnians.

The Vice Governor of Pangasinan Mark Ronald DG. Lambino also lent an inspirational speech where he acknowledged the life and success stories of his father, during the said event.

Lambino shared to the Gawad awardees.
