  5. Reclassified faculty members take oath

A total of 232 PSU reclassified teaching personnel through DBM-CHED Joint Circular No. 3, series of 2022, First Evaluation, took oath on Wednesday, June 26, 2024.

The Pangasinan State University President, Dr. Elbert M. Galas, administered the oath taking ceremony participated in by faculty members across PSU systems at the Dr. Telesforo Boquiren, Convention Hall, Lingayen.

In his message, the PSU President recounted his experience, as applicant himself, during the evaluation process of the said reclassification and emphasized that everyone especially teaching staff must contribute to provide excellent service not only inside the classroom but more so in community involvement and development.

“Now that we are promoted, our call to help others too [our co-faculty] even in simple collaborated projects must also be a priority for the betterment of the beloved university. Let’s not only excel for ourselves but continue to help the university, work for the university,” Dr. Galas shared.

Through the Human Resource Management and Development Office (HRMDO) and Office of the Chief Administrative Officer for Administration, the said event was held.

“This ceremony is not just a formality but a powerful affirmation of your role as a leader in the academe. Just as the lion protects its pride, our faculty are the guardians of knowledge, ensuring that our students are equipped with the skills and values they need to succeed,” Acting University HRMD Officer Ms. Shiela Marie G. Malicdem, said.

Meanwhile, the Vice President for Administration and Finance Management, Dr. Jenylyn V. Oboza, also one of the reclassified personnel, instilled to the teaching force the power of innovation in academe.

“This is not a time to rest on your laurels. The world of academia is ever-evolving, and we must evolve with it. Embrace the challenges, pursue new knowledge, refine your teaching methods and find innovative ways to contribute to our university’s success. Remember, your promotion is not an endpoint; it’s a launchpad for greater heights,” VP Oboza, added.

In the recent cycle of reclassification, PSU has produced six (6) full-fledged Professor VI including President Galas and Vice President for Research, Extension, and Innovation (REI), Dr. Razeale G. Resultay.

In attendance with Pres. Galas were VP for Academics and Student Services , Dr. Manolito C. Manuel, VP for Quality Assurance, Celeste T. Mercado, VP for Local and International Affairs and CAO for Administration, Dr. Ian D. Evangelista, who all personally signified their warmest congratulatory messages to the reclassified faculty members.
