After its certification for the Educational Organization Management Systems (EOMS) earlier this year, Pangasinan State University conducted a university-wide capacity-building activity, August 18–19, 2025.

The two-day training brought together Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) auditors for a recalibration on EOMS using ISO 21001:2018, based on ISO 19011:2018 Audit Guidelines.

PSU President Dr. Elbert M. Galas said that internal quality audit processes not only ensure compliance within the university but also drive continuous improvement for operational efficiency.

“Quality assurance has long been embedded in the system of PSU. Through trainings like this, our IQAs are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to sustain quality practices,” Galas said.

PEMG also encouraged participants to actively engage in the training and closely monitor arising challenges in their respective campuses to better serve their clientele.

The event, held at the Dr. Telesforo N. Boquiren (DTNB) Convention Hall in Lingayen Campus, was spearheaded by the Office of the Vice President for Quality Assurance, led by Dr. Celeste T. Mercado.

VP Mercado emphasized that the participation of QA campus coordinators is vital in strengthening the University’s quality assurance systems and ensuring alignment with international standards.

Ms. Ma. Cecilia M. Fabian and Mr. Manuel “Awe” R. Arboleda served as resource speakers, while OVP-QA directors, document control custodians and unit heads also joined the activity.
