Faculty members of several degree programs in the university underwent orientation workshop on ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) assessment, November 26-27, 2025.

As Pangasinan State University will soon venture on the said accreditation, the two-day program aimed to capacitate the participating campuses with must-knows in pursuit of AUN-QA.

University President, Dr. Elbert M. Galas, initiated the said endeavor to sustain the quality standards of the degree programs in the university and to improve established practices.

“We received commendation from various local accreditations we have been involved in and we will continue to elevate our standards with the help of international accreditation such as AUN-QA,” President Galas said.

Dr. Galas shared that through this accreditation, the budget allocated for state universities and colleges are not wasted but rather seen as investment for excellence, quality assurance and passion- driven academic institution.

Bachelor of Secondary Education, BS Fisheries, BS Hospitality Management, and BS Information Technology programs are subjects for the accreditation. Participants were deans and faculty of the said programs from different campuses.
Vice President for Quality Assurance, Dr. Celeste T. Mercado, said this process helps university strengthen programs’ responsiveness to the needs of learners, industries and communities.

“We reaffirm that the ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance framework is not simply a compliance activity. It is an opportunity for reflection, innovation, and alignment with regional best practices,” VP Mercado added.

An AUN-QA expert, Dr. Jesusa Padilla, facilitated the said two-day orientation-workshop.
