The rapidly evolving landscape requires future educators to be equipped not only with innovative teaching strategies and technological competencies but also with inclusive practices and a strong sense of empathy and human connection.

With this, Pangasinan State University conducted the university-wide orientation for Practice Teachers before they will be deployed to their respective host schools on January 23, 2026.

University President Dr, Elbert M. Galas said every orientation is needed to prepare pre-service teachers to effectively balance innovation, inclusivity and compassion in real classrooms settings.

In her welcome message, Vice President Dr. Weenalei Fajardo of the Academics and Student Services Division, said by emphasizing both professional competence and the human aspect of teaching, this activity supports the development of future-ready educators who uphold ethical standards and inclusive values.

Meanwhile, Unoversity Internship Director Dr. Erna Salazar added that the orientation serves as vital foundation in guiding practice teachers to understand their roles and responsibilities as future educators who are adaptable to change, responsive to diverse learners and committed to fostering meaningful teacher-student relationships.

Serving as keynote speaker for the activity was Dr. Arlyn Mendoza, Principal II of Turac Elementary School in San Carlos City who delved on the blending of innovation, inclusion and the human touch.

Resource Speakers for the orientation included Mr. Rey Marquez (Nature and Scope of PT); Mr. Mark Marlon De Vera (Proper Courtesy and Decorum); Dr. Gina Selga, (Anti Sexual Harrassment Act); and Dr. Beverly Fernandez (Professional Boundaries, Consent and Ethical Conduct)
For the second semester of AY 2025-2026, PSU will deploy 1,323 practice teachers from its Campuses to its partner schools.
