Demonstrating its enduring tradition of academic excellence, Pangasinan State University held the 46th Commencement Exercises for Cluster D on August 15, 2025, at the CSI Stadia, Lucao, Dagupan City.

Anchored on the theme “PSUnian na may Glokal na Kahusayan at Kahandaan para sa Industriya: Tulay sa Pandaigdigang Ugnayan at Kabalikat sa Bagong Pilipinas,” the fourth leg of the University’s graduation rites celebrated the academic triumphs of 1,844 graduates from PSU Bayambang and Binmaley Campuses.

University President Dr. Elbert M. Galas delivered an inspiring message, painting their academic journey as one where challenges were turned into victories:

“Matapang ninyong hinarap ang mga hamon. Pinili ninyong lumago sa kaalaman at karanasan. Nahubog ang inyong pagkatao na parang gintong nadalisay sa apoy… Ang dating pag-iyak dahil sa kakapusang pinansiyal at sa iba pang naranasang pagsubok ay napalitan na ng luha ng kagalakan at tagumpay. ” President Galas stated.

Dr. Galas further urged the graduates to embody PSU’s core values, to dream without limits, to serve with integrity, and to remain firmly grounded in their cultural heritage while embracing opportunities on the global stage.

Moreover, Senator Rafael “Raffy” T. Tulfo, in a video message, extended his greetings to the graduates, reminding them to celebrate their achievements, take pride in their accomplishments, and express gratitude to all who have supported them along their journey as they reap the rewards of their hard work.

Representing Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Dr. Amenah Pangandaman, who served as Guest of Honor and Speaker, was Regional DBM Director Ria V. Bansigan.

She delivered a message to the graduates and offered the following advice as they venture into the professional world: (1) cultivate critical thinking in a world saturated with artificial intelligence, (2) always use the heart to be more compassionate and humane, especially in times when the world needs understanding and empathy, (3) always find your passion and advocacies while setting goals and striving to achieve them, and (4) never stop learning, as education is a lifelong journey.

Dr. Dexter R. Buted, Administrator of the Philippine Coconut Authority; Dr. Christine Nabor Ferrer, Regional Director of the Commission on Higher Education; and Atty. Kandace Palagud, representing Governor Ramon V. Guico III, were in attendance to congratulate the graduates and share words of encouragement.

At the helm of this year’s Latin honors for Cluster D was Mr. John Glenn Ermino, Magna Cum Laude, Bachelor of Physical Education from Bayambang Campus, who delivered an impassioned address.
He likened their college journey to “apat na unos” or four storms that tested their courage, perseverance and purpose.

His words rang with gratitude and a clarion call for service: “Sa bawat PSUnian na narito ngayon, tandaan natin — ang ating diploma ay hindi lamang papel; ito ay panata sa bayan, sa ating mga magulang, at sa kinabukasan na ating bubuuin.”

PSU University officials, together with Campus Executive Directors Dr. Gudelia M. Samson of Bayambang and Dr. Marie Claire Briones of Binmaley, joined the celebration, extending their heartfelt congratulations to the newest members of the PSU alumni family.

As the Class of 2025 moves forward, PSU calls on them not merely to pursue personal success but to serve, equipped with knowledge, anchored in values, and united under the rallying cry: Padayon, Batch 2025!
