Pangasinan State University President, Dr. Elbert M. Galas, urged newly hired and newly promoted university personnel to fulfill their duties well during the oath taking ceremony, April 11.
Dr. Galas said that each PSU employee has a crucial role to play in the fulfillment of the academic institution’s mission and vision by performing satisfactorily in a given task.
“This is just the beginning [of your journey in the university] na dapat you are motivated. We should not confine with the concept of performing the job only because of the salary & benefits,” Dr. Galas said.
The University President emphasized that a united effort would yield to solid foundation as he shared “You have your own role in our university.”
Some forty-eight (48) newly promoted and newly hired non-teaching employees across supervisory and non-supervisory level with permanent status took their oath yesterday to signify their commitment to the university.
Dr. Galas administered the oathtaking together with Vice Presidents Dr. Manolito C. Manuel, Dr. Jenylyn V. Oboza and Dr. Ian D. Evangelista.
The Chief Administrative Officer for Administration and concurrent VP for Local and International Affairs, Dr. Ian Evangelista, welcomed the attendees in the ceremony.
“I always say and believe that life is a matter of both chance & choice and that everything happens for a reason. There is a reason why you are hired here. We might not know it yet, but in the future, you will realize that,” Dr. Evangelista said.
Dr. Jenylyn Oboza, Vice President for Administration and Finance Management, inspired the attendees while reiterating the importance of PSU’s mantra towards excellence.
“As you take your oath today, I urge you to embrace this new responsibility with courage, enthusiasm and sense of purpose. Your oath is not just a formality, it is in fact a commitment to uphold the core values of our organization. To serve with ACCESS, with the word ACCESS in your heart,” Dr. Oboza shared.
The said oath taking ceremony was accompanied by an orientation in the afternoon session having other university officials as resource speakers.

Sarmiento, Director for Public Relations and Information Office (PSU Hallmarks), Dr. Romary Lincod, Director for GAD, represented by Ms. Beverly Fernandez (Gender and Development Mainstreaming and Orientation), Ms. Shiela Marie G. Malicdem, Acting University HRMD Officer (Personnel Standard Policies and Procedures), and Ms. Princess Diane L. Palisoc of Accounting Office (Compensation and Other Personnel Benefits).
Included in the said third batch of Revised Organizational Structure and Staffing Standards (ROSS) for SUCs hiring were members of PSU’s top management, Dr. Jeanilyn L. Villanueva (Chief Administrative Officer for Finance) and Dr. Manolito C. Manuel for the Vice President position.
