The long wait is over as the “Pinakanatatanging Mag-aaral ng PSU” was finally revealed during the 2020 Gawad Parangal on November 18.

After months of delay caused by the pandemic, the ever momentous event finally took place at the Dr. Telesforo Boquiren Convention Hall and was streamed live on Facebook.

Of all nominees from this year’s Gawad Parangal, only five made through the final screening for the grand award: Cristoto B. Caluya Jr. (Alaminos City Campus), John Joseph Zarate (Bayambang Campus), Danny Boy Francis Flores (Lingayen Campus), Alfonso P. Domantay (San Carlos City Campus), and Joshua Bernal (Sta. Maria Campus).

Of the four finalists, John Joseph Zarate bagged the “Pinakanatatanging Mag-aaral ng PSU” title and took home the largest Golden Lion trophy.

Moreover, two other nominees were also recognized and awarded: Jade Mijares from Urdaneta City Campus and Ruby Jadely San Roque from Asingan Campus.

Gawad Parangal is the annual eminent students’ award ceremony of PSU that started on 2015 wherein the students of great leadership with outstanding academic records were recognized.

Previous Awardees were: Menard Nava (2015),  Mark Marlon de Vera (2016), Mohammed Ardaniel Swandi (2017), Patrice Flores (2018), and Adrian Veloso (2019).
