A total of 𝟏, 𝟔𝟎𝟕 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐀𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐬 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐒𝐭𝐚. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐔𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐚 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐬 received their degree during the university’s 45th Commencement Exercise on August 28, 2024 at CSI Stadia Lucao District in Dagupan City.
Dr. Rosario DL. Valencerina, Campus Executive Director of PSU Alaminos; Dr. Honorio L. Cascolan, CED of Sta Maria Campus; and Dr. Roy C. Ferrer, CED of Urdaneta City Campus, introduced the graduating class from their respective campuses while Vice President Dr. Manolito C. Manuel endorsed them to the President.
Dr. Elbert M. Galas, the University President, emphasized the importance of perseverance as he stated “𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐲 𝐧𝐚 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐦𝐭𝐚𝐧 𝐤𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐚𝐠𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐤𝐚𝐩”.
The President also elaborated the reputation of the university as home of topnotchers as he shared the achievements that PSU students earned in various licensure examinations.
Meanwhile, 𝑀𝑟. 𝐽𝑜𝑠𝑒 𝑀𝑎. “𝐽𝑜𝑒𝑦” 𝐶𝑜𝑛𝑐𝑒𝑝𝑐𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝐼𝐼𝐼, 𝑅𝐹𝑀 𝐶𝑜𝑟𝑝𝑜𝑟𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝐶ℎ𝑎𝑖𝑟𝑚𝑎𝑛 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑃𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑖𝑑𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑓𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑑𝑒𝑟 𝑜𝑓 𝐺𝑜 𝑁𝑒𝑔𝑜𝑠𝑦𝑜, 𝑠𝑒𝑟𝑣𝑒𝑑 𝑎𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑔𝑢𝑒𝑠𝑡 𝑠𝑝𝑒𝑎𝑘𝑒𝑟 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑡𝑜𝑑𝑎𝑦’𝑠 𝑜𝑐𝑐𝑎𝑠𝑖𝑜𝑛.
“𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐬, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐛𝐞 𝐨𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜,” Concepcion shared as he encouraged the students through his virtual speech.
Graduates who earned latin honors, accompanied by their parents, were awarded with medals and all the graduates then stepped on the stage to receive their diplomas.
In a response of gratitude, 𝐀𝐥-𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐄. 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐩𝐨𝐧, 𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐧𝐚 𝐂𝐮𝐦 𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐝𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐏𝐒𝐔 𝐒𝐭𝐚. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬, recalled the hardships and experiences she encountered in the online class during the pandemic. Manipon emphasized that graduation is not the end.
“𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐨 𝐧𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭 𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐚𝐧, 𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐨 𝐚𝐲 𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐛𝐚𝐠𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐚,” she stated.
Manipon was awarded a medal for attaining the highest general weighted average among Cluster C graduates.
Afterwards, the graduates took the pledge of loyalty to the Alumni Associations led by Dr. Julie Junio.
The occasion concluded with the Abaray toss and a heartwarming community singing of the PSU Hymn.
