In an ardent appreciation of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Pangasinan State University San Carlos Campus students gathered at the Campus LRC – Library to honor the resilience and achievements of persons with disabilities (PWD), including those from marginalized sectors such as out-of-school youth (OSY), indigenous peoples (IP), and solo parents on December 3, 2024.
The event was organized by the Office of Admission and Guidance Services led by Mme. Noemi C. Carlos and Mme. Jenzy Pascua, the Guidance Counselor and Functionary, in collaboration with the Peer Facilitators Circle led by Mme. Jexies Gloria-Abihay (PFC President), Mr. Reynald D. Gloria (PFC Adviser), along with its diligent senior and junior counselors and youth advocates, featured a series of engaging activities aimed at advancing empowerment and sharing personal narratives.
PSUnians took part in “My Journey,” where they shared their life experiences, as well as interactive board games and a creative “Draw Your Thoughts” session that encouraged self-expression.
An on-the-spot slogan-making contest inspired students to articulate their messages of hope and advocacy, while guided meditation exercises provided a calming space for reflection and mindfulness.
The spectacle highlighted the unique stories of PWD students and emphasized the importance of inclusivity and support within the university community.
The venture culminated with a renewed commitment to championing the rights and welfare of all PSU-SCC students, ensuring a more inclusive environment for everyone at PSU San Carlos Campus led by Dr. Liza Lanuza-Quimson, the Executive Director.
