Pangasinan State University had again shown its czar and expertise in hosting global events in the recent success of the Linguistic Society of the Philippines International Conference (LSPIC) 2025.

PSU led by the University President, Dr. Elbert M. Galas, accommodated language enthusiasts, linguists, language experts and researchers during the three-day event.

“Language is the thread that weaves humanity together. We gather here not only to exchange ideas and research but also to build bridges across disciplines, cultures and borders,” Dr. Galas said.

In closing during the third day of the said international conference, Organization’s Vice President Dr. Aireen B. Barrios along with other members of LSP Board thanked the university for successfully hosting the 7th LSPIC.

Dr. Shirley Dita, one of the LSP Board Members, lauded PSU for its effort. The Professor said that the university had set the standards for other hosts to follow.

Meanwhile, LSP Local Conference co-director Dr. Jenylyn V. Oboza representing Dr. Ian D. Evangelista, acknowledged all the committees for quality and efficient effort since the planning stage to the actual days of the event, living up to the promise that PSU would make LSPIC 2025 – a bigger, brighter and bolder one.

Moreover, Dr. Peter Joseph Torres of Arizona State University gave a thorough discussion on his topic ‘Language in Healthcare: From Policy to Practice Across Communities.’

Dr. Josephine S. Daguman of the Translators Association of the Philippines, Inc., brought up discussion on ‘TAP Language Development Team Services: A citizen science approach to language development in contemporary Philippine context.’
Parallel sessions of themed panels were conducted in the morning, April 26, and a general meeting during the closing program in the afternoon at the Dr. Telesforo N. Boquiren Convention Hall.

The 8th LSPIC will be held at West Visayas State University by 2026, according to the LSP Board.
Again, the Pangasinan State University led by Dr. Galas along with the Linguistic Society of the Philippines headed by Dr. Rachelle B. Lintao, Provincial Government of Pangasinan, and Local Government Unit of Lingayen, would like to thank and congratulate all committee members and participants of the LSPIC 2025.
