Pangasinan State University celebrated another milestone of excellence as Cluster C of the 46th Commencement Exercises filled the Stadia hall on August 15, 2025.

A total of 1,777 graduates from the campuses of Alaminos City, Sta. Maria, and Urdaneta City proudly received their diplomas, marking a significant achievement in their academic journey.

In his message, University President Dr. Elbert M. Galas highlighted education as a lasting legacy, stating, “Ngayon ay abot kamay na ninyo ang pinakamahalagang pamanang masasandalan ninyo sa habambuhay — ang pamanang edukasyon,” and emphasized that beyond knowledge and skills, graduates must uphold the core values and beliefs of the university: “Higit sa karunungan at kasanayan na inyong natamo, mahalaga ring maisapamuhay ninyo ang naikintal na kahalagahan at paniniwala ng Pamantasan”.This underscores the university’s commitment to producing graduates who are not only competent but also guided by ethical and institutional values.

Meanwhile, the 6th University President and now CEO and Administrator of the Philippine Coconut Authority, Dr. Dexter R. Buted, served as the guest of honor and speaker. In his message, he emphasized three counter-virtues to conquer the challenges of the world;

“Take risks, but take them wisely, be unapologetically you, cling to goodness, even when it’s not convenient,” CEO Buted said as he noted that these three virtues will guide graduates in overcoming the challenges of the world.

Representing Pangasinan Governor Ramon V. Guico III, Atty. Maan L. Ferrer-Villegas, Provincial Governor’s Office-Chief Administrative Officer, likewise addressed the graduates, urging them to demonstrate self-reliance and perseverance in their chosen paths.

Adding a national perspective, Senator Raffy Tulfo extended his congratulations through a video message and challenged the graduates to become active contributors to national development.

“Panahon na kayo naman ang aambag sa ating bayan sa pamamagitan ng inyong talino at talento,” he said. He also reminded them to stay true to their identity and aspirations: “Naala yo kumon, ya amin, aramay, ambisyon yo, ed bilay yo.” Tulfo concluded his message by expressing gratitude and optimism, stating, “Balbaleg ya salamat.”

Notably, Cluster C yielded 25 Latin graduates comprising 16 from Alaminos City, two from Urdaneta,and seven from Sta. Maria. Ms. Gracie Lou P.
