Pangasinan State University continues to advance in digitization through technological landscape and research endeavors.
The university led by its President, Dr. Elbert M. Galas, as one of the project proponents, organized a focus group discussion (FGD) on ‘System Development for Marketing of Research-Based Technologies of PSU,’ on November 26, 2024.
Dr. Galas expounded that the said system development will benefit not only the academic institution to its mantra of becoming an industry-driven and smart university but will also be of great support for stakeholders and to the community.
“The implementation of information systems in the university is part of our promise of converting our processes into an accessible, transparent and uniform system,” Galas added.
The University President even highlighted that through the said implementation, retrieving of data and information can be easily recorded, archived, monitored and evaluated. Dr. Galas coined it ‘’responsive, as it will easily help us check the progress of our trajectories.”
The Office of the Vice President for Research, Extension and Innovation headed by Vice Pres. Razeale G. Resultay, spearheaded the said meeting.
Dr. Resultay shared that through this platform, the institution can help bring university products closer to consumers and more importantly, understand market dynamics.
The said focus group discussion aimed to present the system to stakeholders, gather their feedback and assess its functionality as Stakeholders’ observations, suggestions, and insights were crucial in refining the system to ensure its effectiveness in meeting their needs.
“The system is designed to serve as a market validation tool for products derived from research, providing essential sales data to assist technology adopters. It also aims to expand the reach of these technologies beyond national borders, positioning PSU as a global leader in research and technology,” OVP REIGn writes.
Vice President for Local and International Affairs, Dr. Ian D. Evangelista, Campus Executive Directors Dr. Gudelia Samson, Dr. Marie Claire Briones, Dr. Rosario Valencerina, and university directors Dr. Narciso Castro and Ms. Marinuelle Aquino also took part on the said event.
Other project proponents, Centerhead Dr. Gloria M. Ducut, CED of PSU Lingayen Dr. Renato E. Salcedo, Mr. Leo Gabriel V. Villanueva, Mr. Lemuel M. Ventayen, Ms. Shyeleen N. Tugas, and Mr. Ruissan A. Ramos participated in the said meeting along with PSU faculty members and research enthusiasts.
