Venturing into quality processes is not new to Pangasinan State University, as it consistently strives for high standards in effective operations.
True enough, PSU led by University President, Dr. Elbert M. Galas, along with the Quality Assurance division, ventured on Stage 2 External Audit for ISO 21001:2018 (Educational Organizations Management System or EOMS) and ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management System or QMS) by TUV Rheinland.
“Quality management is at the heart of our university’s mission. Through external audits like this, we gain valuable insights into how we can grow and improve, allowing us to serve our community with even greater dedication and excellence.” Dr. Galas said.
According to the PSU President, the university’s commitment to continuous improvement is a key factor in providing quality education, creating a holistic learning experience for students, and empowering the community.
The said audit, which ran for three days officially commenced on February 3, 2025, with some of the process owners categorized in Site 1 or the PSU Main Offices and Site 2 or PSU Lingayen Campus, got audited.
The Extenal Audit Team include Ms. Grace Balobalo, Ms. Grace Del Rosario, Ms. Zenaida Cruz, Ms. Jogina Mendiola, Mr. Rolando Remitar, Ms. Eliza Cruz, Mr. John Francis Faustorilla Jr., Mr. Frederick Tolentino, Mr. Rafael Magsino, and Mr. Tengku Hermansyah.
PSU VP for QA, Dr. Celeste T. Mercado, signified her gratitude to the audit team in providing recommendations subject for improvement in the university. Vice Presidents, Dr. Ian D. Evangelista for LIA, Dr. Manolito C. Manuel for Academics, Dr. Razeale G. Resultay for Research, and Dr. Elmer C. Vingua for Administration also took part in the said audit.
Other units in sites 1 and 2 were scheduled on succeeding days of the audit which involved a thorough review of documented procedures, records, and on-site visits to ensure the university’s strict compliance with established standards.
