Pangasinan State University once again went beyond local borders and welcomed Nghe An University from Vietnam for a collaborative meeting and benchmarking activity, November 26, 2025.

The Vietnamese university, the first international university that benchmarked PSU, held an initial meeting to explore possible collaborations and partnerships in student and faculty mobility, research collaboration, and Quality Assurance international accreditation.

PSU President, Dr. Elbert M. Galas, brought up that innovation in the university continues to grow, particularly through international collaborations.
“It is a reminder that the meaningful efforts of the university to uplift the quality of education have become evident through international engagement. The trust that international institutions have given us is really humbling,” President Galas said.

Meanwhile, PSU Vice President, Dr. Celeste T. Mercado, led the collaborative meeting with the head of the delegation, Dr. Trần Anh Tú, Vice President of Nghe An University.

Dr. Mercado shared that PSU remains open to collaborations and is excited about the opportunities that the future partnership between both institutions may bring.

She was joined by International Accreditation Director Dr. Randy Joy M. Ventayen, REI Centerhead, Prof. Irene De Vera, and PRIO Director Ms. Venus May H. Sarmiento in discussing key areas of partnership.

The Vietnam delegation extended heartfelt gratitude to PSU for the warm hospitality shown throughout their visit.

“Your hospitality is a testament to the friendship and close ties between the educational system of Vietnam and the Philippines in general, and between Pangasinan State University and Nghe An University in particular,” Vice President Tú shared.
Joining the Vietnam team was the delegation from the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST), who accompanied them as part of their cultural exchange program.
