  5. PSUnians put on a show at the Cultural F...
Flaunting their skills and talents, the students and employees of Pangasinan State University electrified the stage of Dr. Telesforo N. Boquiren Convention Hall with their performances on the last day of the 43rd Founding Anniversary.

The Cultural Festival was a celebration that focused on showcasing the creativity and cleverness of individuals when it comes to their passion on painting, photography, singing, dancing, playing instruments, and acting.

The event commenced with the words of welcome of Dr. Romary R. Lincod, the Director for NSTP, PE and Sports Development as well as the committee for the Cultural Festival.

“Ngayong umaga iaalay natin ang ating kahusayan, yung kagalingan natin, yung bigay sa atin ng Poong Maykapal na talento natin. Nandito tayo para ipakita yung kahusayan natin, hindi yung tayo ay mas magaling sa kanila, lahat po tayo ay magagaling kaya tayo naririto”, Dr. Lincod stressed.

Upholding his support from the first day of the week-long celebration until the last, Dr. Ian D. Evangelista, the Chief Administrative Officer and concurrent CED of Infanta Campus as well as the overall chairman of the 43rd Founding Anniversary gave his inspirational message.

“Hindi lahat ay natututunan sa apat na sulok ng classroom, may mga bagay na natututunan natin outside. Kaya sa selebrasyon natin ngayong 43rd Founding Anniversary, we integrated various activities that will help enhance, that will enable to showcase your skills, your talents, your competencies, kasi at the end of the day ganun yung purpose ng university, to develop all of you holistically sa pagkat hindi natatapos dito yung laban. Dito we are preparing you para sa mas malaking hamon sa labas ng Pangasinan State University and we want you to be competitive enough to compete not only with the rest of other students or graduates in the Philippines, but also abroad. At the end of the day, that is our vision”, Dr. Evangelista emphasized.

Prof. Celeste T. Mercado, the Director for Student and Alumni Affairs, presented the statement of purpose in which the university aspires to mold the students in becoming holistic and full-packaged students who are catered not only with academic needs but also provided with different avenues and opportunities to shine in their own respective way.
“Culture brings people together”, Prof. Mercado added.

The panel of judges invited were from within and outside the university to show transparency which is one of the core values of PSU.

A part of the event was the promotion of the movie ‘Lobo’, a joint project of HCA Production and Pangasinan State University supported by the Philippine National Police Force Multipliers-KKDAT (Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo), directed by Direk Harvie Aquino.

Cheers, applauses, and loud noises overflowed as the Cultural Festival presented various contests which unveiled the talents of PSUnians.

Hence, the event ended with a unity dance which proved that PSUnians are not only academically inclined but also multi-talented.

PSU expresses its deepest gratitude to the ever-inspiring visionary University President, Dr. Dexter R. Buted for giving the green light to the event that gave students and employees opportunities not only to develop their skills and talents but also to unite the whole PSU community.

The Pangasinan State University strives to produce globally competent individuals who are capable of meeting the needs of the industry, public service and civil society.
