There are programs for life skills trainings (e.g. conflict and stress management, harassment, etc.) counseling, testing, and referrals for students with special needs.

Two years ago, Pangasinan State University- Asingan Campus has a student with special needs due to speech defects. She is Danie Mica S. Dagang, a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, major in Marketing Management.

She has been treated equally as a regular student but with special considerations from time to time because of her situation on having speech defect/ difficulty. She was constantly being checked upon from time to time regarding her academic standing and general welfare. Most of the time, she was tapped as an encoder by some of her professors in exchange for monetary income. She was then a SUC- Tulong- Dunong Program financial assistance grantee.
