The 16th SEAMEO INNOTECH International Conference which took place on May 16, 2025, gathered though leaders as it explored how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can transform education across Southeast Asia and beyond.

Leveraging on the theme ‘AI in Education: Unlocking Potential Through Accessible and Equitable Learning,’ the transformative dialogue delved into high level policy discussions, engaging plenary sessions and focused break -out sessions.
Pangasinan State University President Dr. Elbert M. Galas attended the event held at The Manila Hotel while other Executive Directors joined online via Zoom platform.

“This international event provided dynamic discussions and meaningful connections with fellow professionals who will help shape the future of education. The participation of PSU will not only enhance the broader goals of advancing education but more so provide the vision to become an industry-driven state university” President Galas said.

INNOTECH Center Director Dr. Majah- Leah Ravago welcomed the participants while Secretary Sonny Angara of the Department of Education served as keynote speaker of the event. This was followed by the Expression of Support to the drafting of a Regional Policy Framework on AI in Education for Southeast Asia.

Each plenary session featured carefully selected and renowned experts from across sectors like the World Bank, ADOBE, Timor-Leste, Malaysia, British Embassy and the Philippines, among others, bringing diverse perspectives and insights on how to harness AI to create inclusive, future-ready learning environments.

SEAMEO INNOTECH or the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization – Regional Center for Educational Innovation and Technology, was established in 1970 to identify and help solve common and unique education problems in the region, as well as assist SEAMEO Member Countries in identifying solutions to their individual educational problems and needs.
