The Research, Development, and Extension (RDE) team explored the salt farms of Pangasinan to survey their salt production, marketing strategies, and demographics. They travelled to Alaminos, Dasol, Infanta, San Fabian, Mangaldan, Villasis, and Anda to gather information and help the salt industry through research and extension.
After which the RDE Team members presented to the DOST PCIEERD officials and the provincial and local government officials of Pangasinan last August 20, 2020 their findings on the problems and challenges of the salt industry. Dr. Buted gave his introduction to their recent activities and proposals in the industry. Among those who attended were Cong. Ramon V. Guico III, DOST Regional Director Armando Q. Ganal, mayors of Anda, Bolinao, Dasol, Alaminos at Infanta, and the salt farm owners of their respective town. (PSU Echoes, Vol XX No.2).
