The nine campuses of Pangasinan State University once more showcased impeccable talents in various competition during the first day of the University-wide Culture and Arts Festival on Monday, December 4.
Music and visual arts competitions came in different categories such as kundiman, vocal solo, vocal duet, choral, instrumental solo, live band, pencil drawing, charcoal rendering, photography and on-the-spot painting brought out determination, passion, and artistry of PSUnians.
Dr. Ramil L. Dacal, Director for Culture and Arts Affairs Office, spearheaded the said event to give importance to the culture and arts through any means of creative expression.
“I hope that we will continue to work together by uplifting each other by complementing the strengths of one another through culture and arts,” the Director added in his welcome remarks.
Mixed emotions of excitement, happiness and high level of energy completed the experience of everyone witnessing the event at Don Telesforo N. Boquiren Convention Hall, where the kick-off program was held.
Announcement of winners followed immediately after each category finished.
PSU, led by University President Dr. Elbert M. Galas, an advocate of digitization and internationalization also takes into account humanity aspects. Through the university-wide Culture and Arts Festival, a demonstration of igniting passion among PSU students is undeniable. The masterpieces do not only reflect excellence inside the classroom but beyond the stage in appreciation of humanity.
