In the widespread issue of bullying in the community, the education sector holds a large mandate in ending the stigma.
Promoting a ‘free bullying community,’ the San Pedro Apartado National High School in Alcala, Pangasinan consulted Pangasinan State University in the enhancement of its BIDA KA Project, through a meeting, May 22.
PSU, through Research, Extension and Innovation (REI) Division led by 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐃𝐫. 𝐑𝐚𝐳𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐆. 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐲, is confident in supporting the campaign, as it has pioneered this mission through innovative research.
The 𝐵𝐼𝐷𝐴 𝐾𝐴 𝑜𝑟 ‘𝐵𝑢𝑙𝑙𝑦𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑎𝑦 𝐼𝑤𝑎𝑠𝑎𝑛, 𝐷𝑎𝑔𝑑𝑎𝑔𝑎𝑛 𝑎𝑛𝑔 𝐾𝑎𝑖𝑏𝑖𝑔𝑎𝑛’ 𝑝𝑟𝑜𝑗𝑒𝑐𝑡 will base its framework on PSU’s research on 𝐵𝑖𝑏𝑙𝑖𝑜𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑎𝑝ℎ𝑦, 𝑓𝑢𝑛𝑑𝑒𝑑 𝑏𝑦 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝐶𝑜𝑚𝑚𝑖𝑠𝑠𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑜𝑛 𝐻𝑢𝑚𝑎𝑛 𝑅𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡𝑠, showcasing PSU’s ongoing commitment to addressing bullying and fostering friendships.
The San Pedro Apartado National High School through the BIDA KA aims to address problem of bullying among pupils and students inside the community especially in the classroom environment and to provide intervention to eliminate the said misconduct.
Arlene A. Abiang, Principal IV and the proponent, said that PSU will be a big help to this project because of its esteemed faculty and personnel who can lead the project.
Meanwhile, Dr. Resultay, also shared future projects of the PSU that address bullying. Other possible programs and activities were also discussed which the two partners can enjoy prior to the finalization of the Memorandum of Agreement.
In the meeting, the Director for Extension Services Office, Dr. Armando Junio, gave an overview of the 𝐶𝑂𝑀𝑀𝑈𝑁𝐼𝑉𝐸𝑅𝑆𝐼𝐷𝐴𝐷 𝑂𝑢𝑡𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑐ℎ 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑉𝑜𝑙𝑢𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑒𝑟 𝑃𝑟𝑜𝑔𝑟𝑎𝑚, an umbrella program for all outreach and volunteer activities in all campuses of the university.
Other attendees of the said meeting were Rosa R. Lopez, Head Teacher III, and Jessa E. Villena, Master Teacher III, of San Pedro Apartado National High School in Alcala.
PSU led by 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐃𝐫. 𝐄𝐥𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐌. 𝐆𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐬, through partnership and collaboration maintains the call for sustainable and social responsiveness.
