The Pangasinan State University participated in the Luzon Regional Stakeholders’ Dialogue spearheaded by the University of the Philippines Visayas, May 30.
Tagged as ‘Capacity Building, Policy Review and Innovative Legislation toward Coastline Protection and Development for a Sustainable Future,’ various government institutions gathered at the University Hotel of UP Diliman.
Dr. Clement Camposano, Chancellor of UP Visayas together with Engr. Ramir P. Bautista, Program Leader, highlighted the importance of understanding the country’s geographical aspects and addressed the existing problem of fragmentation in national and local government units (LGUs) and academic institutions by engaging various stakeholders to develop a more holistic, cohesive and integral approach to coastline and environmental protection.
Representing PSU President, Dr. Elbert M. Galas, and Vice President for Research, Innovation (REI) Division, Dr. Razeale G. Resultay, was Centerhead, Dr. Irene De Vera.
During the said event, presenters and participants were from Luzon national government agencies, academe clusters, local government units and civil society organizations.
According to the organizers, a National Stakeholders’ Dialogue, is expected to be slated July this year, following the series of activities and consultations conducted in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
